NLR Psychotherapy provides a safe, encouraging environment where individuals, couples, and groups share their concerns and learn new communication and coping skills. These sessions will improve understanding of emotional triggers, help reduce daily stress and feelings of isolation, and increase self-awareness and competencies. The goal of this work is to have clarity about your needs, to have healthy relationships and to feel empowered in your life choices.
It was Henry David Thoreau who wrote, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation” in response to the emotional tolls of the suffocating industrial culture of the 1850’s. The sad fact is that – for many men and women – the situation has hardly improved in the 21st century. Time demands and responsibilities arising from work, school, child rearing, financial constraints, and even social commitments can be all-consuming. This frequently leaves precious little space for ourselves, or to nurture fulfilling relationships with those closest to us.
Our work at NLR Psychotherapy is to examine what feels suffocating, constraining, or unsatisfying, and to slowly peel away all that is holding you in a state of distress. It is within this setting that you will begin to remove obstacles that hinder their obtainment. No one needs to settle for a life “of quiet desperation”. You have the power to free yourself of emotional burdens and reinvigorate your life and relationships. The choice is yours.
